DATA MANAGEMENT

A range of valuable data management services is provided to members by CDA. A close working relationship with the DTI enables CDA to address collective regulatory data matters for UKCS licensees. CDA collaborates actively with other national and international industry bodies to broaden the base for co-operation on data and its management.

Data Standards
CDA has adopted or developed a practical data management standards for use with the DataStore. Go to CDA standards page for more details.

Data Destruction Guidelines
One of CDA’s key objectives is to eliminate duplicated data through sharing. Disposal of redundant data is carried out in an environmentally responsible manner using service providers identified by CDA.

CDA and the DTI
CDA works constructively in close partnership with the DTI in many areas including data exchange and format standards, data release, data regulations and regulatory reporting, data access for new licence rounds and the National Archive.

Fishing Safety
By arrangement with UKOOA, CDA collects and quality-controls information from UKCS operators about offshore infrastructure. This information is provided to British and foreign fishing fleets for safety purposes.

Industry Initiatives - Access to Licence Data
On behalf of its membership, CDA is actively engaged with PILOT, the DTI and UKOOA to improve access to licence data. This work brings efficiencies and added-value to the benefit of current and prospective UKCS licensees and industry in general.
