Well Headers

Well Notifications are sent by DTI to the Service Provider and are loaded to the DataStore. These notifications are updated on well completion. The DTI well names provide the key reference to which the well data supplied by the data owners is attached.

Digital Well Data

Raw digital well log data for all new wells is supplied by the data owner to the CDA DataStore. The data is referenced to the DTI well name and loaded to the Repository. Entitlements are set as supplied by the data owner. Only entitled parties can view the DWL data in the catalogue and download the data.

The CDA Well DataStore was started in 1996. CDA selected 'raw' digital well log data for the initial project and work began with the loading of an initial set of data from 2,990 wells donated by the DTI and several CDA member companies. All new raw digital well log data has been loaded to the system from March 1996. In September 1997 work began on loading data for the remaining wells and the bulk of the loading was completed at the end of 1998.

Scanned Image Well Data

The scanned image project started at the beginning of 1998 and complements the digital well log data project. The objective of the project is to create and inventory a master ‘basic set’ (as defined by PON 9) of scanned image well data (logs and reports) by complementing the DTI’s collection at Edinburgh with missing data. Entitlements are set to each item of hard copy data. Hard copy data submitted to the Repository is scanned, indexed and catalogued to CDA CS8 standards and made available as entitled items downloadable as TIF files. The hard copy is sent to the DTI core store in Edinburgh for storage unless otherwise instructed by the data owner.

Joined Digital Well Log Data (JDWL)

A project to load Joined Digital Well Log data was initiated in 2002. CDA Participants can now submit JDWL data for storage and retrieval through the Repository. The data takes the well level entitlements.

Well Deviation Data (WDD)

A project to load Well Deviation data was piloted in 2002 and CDA Participants will be able to submit WDD for storage and retrieval through the Repository. The data will take the well level entitlements.
