The benefits of CDA Seismic Navigation DataStore:

  • The Repository provides an atlas of 2D & 3D seismic surveys conducted over the UKCS;
  • The Repository provides a mechanism for the storage, exchange and transfer of seismic navigation data between participants in validated exchange formats;
  • All surveys on the CDA DataStore are identified with a CS9 standard survey name. These have been applied to all legacy surveys as well as to new surveys loaded to the Repository. Unless supplied by the data owner, the CS9 survey name is added to the supplied data by the Service Provider.
  • The 2D navigation data and the 3D outline polygons are exported monthly to DEAL (www.ukdeal.co.uk) to provide a public atlas of seismic surveys.
  • The navigation data and associated CS9 survey names will provide the means of identifying the location of seismic trace data through the DEAL Data Registry. This project will be initiated in 2003.
